Urban development is more and more about transforming or densifying existing areas. This typically involves a lot of different owners and other stakeholders. Due to this fragmentation, your project partly depends on others taking initiatives and investing. This limits your mandate and control over the overall process, timelines and outcomes. Whether you are working in public or private sector or perhaps a civic organisation, you will always need to engage and activate all other stakeholders to join in and keep working towards a shared set of goals on all the different local issues, while being super resilient and adaptive to different future scenarios and unexpected changes.
